This historic pub is regarded as one of the best in the Peak District. Situated just off the Monsal Trail, the pub is surrounded by some of the most striking scenery the Peaks have to offer. Settle down by one of our three open fires or linger outside in our covered & heated pergola to enjoy real ales and tasty food locally sourced by the landlord. Muddy boots, kids and dogs are all welcome.

Our aim is to deliver a taste of the Peak District to you whenever you visit.

We source all of our food locally to bring you meat, game, breads & cheeses from the best producers in Derbyshire and we change our menu on a monthly basis to ensure we deliver the best seasonal produce to you every time

Serving a wide range of cask ales and lagers, the Packhorse Inn is a fantastic place to come for a good honest pint. Black Sheep is a regular feature, and local beers include cask ales from the Thornbridge Brewery in Bakewell.
​
We always have three Thornbridge beers on including the award winning Jaipur pale ale and a fourth guest beer. We also have a sixth hand pull which features regularly changing still ciders.
​
The wine list is concise but effective, with the usual suspects all provided by Hattersley Wines in Bakewell. A full range of spirits is also available as are tea and coffee.
​
We are regulars in the Good Beer Guide, so pop in for a pint and try them for yourself!
